SNDC has built a new travellers site close to the Harford Park and ride in Norwich, and when it first opened it was like a Haven Holiday camp it was impressive, there were purpose built little bungalows with hardstands beside each one for a caravan, now only 6 weeks later it is like a tip, there are horses everywhere, rubbish littering as far as the eye can see,it is disgusting.and as for the park and ride yards away,I wouldn't park my car close to a Gypo camp..ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

We are sorry if the pastry was dry but we are glad that the problem was revised hopefully to your safisfaction.
But we feel the need to point out urgently that the attached photograph is definately not Royston's Traditional Bakery.
Thanks for your positive comments, we always try to act on feed back, good or bad.

I work for SNDC and we are supposed to go onto all these travellers sites and empty their wheelie bins, but due to our safety fears we will not go onto the sites alone.personally I would not go onto them at all, they are disgusting places, the ones we do go onto, have stolen wheelie bins which come from other villages as most have people's addresses on them.but the travellers don't care they don't take the stickers off.
at the end of the day they only have to ask for a bin and we will deliver free of charge, but they would rather steal them,so if they are so low as to steal a wheelie bin what else would they steal? place these sites well out of the way of towns and villages.

Further to last comment, Tippett Close has 33 properties in it,and it was a quiet Close, until the Norwich City Council decided to house 7 Traveller families there, and as normal residents move out,the overspill from the 7 traveller houses move into the empty properties,so soon all the properties in Tippett Close will be lived in by travellers, and this could happen anywhere even Brockdish. The Police are always in the Close now and neither the Council or the Police will do anything about anti social behaviour.and this will only get worse throughout the country.

Why use council tax money to accomodate them,if you gave them a site to live on they would on trash it.I know of plenty of travellers sites and they have all been trashed. In Norwich they even gave them council houses and they trashed them like in Tippett Close Norwich.

What ever happens do not put up with having gyspy travellers anywhere near where you live,it will be the beginning of the end for you if you do,I live in Tippett Close, which is in Norwich, which was a quiet cul-de-sac of 33 properties and now at least 7 of the properties have been taken over by gyspies, all thanks to Norwich City Council, and they are a total pest, they leave rubbish blowing in the Close, shopping trollies strewn everywhere and they park breakdown trucks, horseboxes and large 4x4's anywhere they like.they bread like rabbits and they are a total nusiance.
god help you if they move near you,but where ever happens do not move to Tippett Close in Norwich NR5 9HQ

There is no such thing as Gypsy or Travellers it is there choice they choose to move around so why should my Taxs pay to accomadate them. Id like to move to Brazil but cant see Taxpayers funding my accomadation costs.
Remove these so called minorities from all lists they are either British or not, treatment ends there.

I think a footpath to Needham is an excellent idea, although, presumably, the speed limit would then have to be reduced. When I once had to walk home from Harleston, the last bit - between Needham and Brockdish - did not feel particularly safe and the verge is not very flat... It would also be good to make a safer link between The Street and Tumbril Lane. And, how about a cycle lane?!

With regard to play facilities, could we not have a safe area with equipment for the younger children on a bit of the common in Common Lane? I have always thought (a resident for 24 years now) that older children were allowed to use the Church Field, but perhaps I am wrong.

I agree with you Dave.

I understand there is common land in the village (near the school) and down Common Lane and there are plans afoot (or in progress) to clear the land down Common Lane. The other bit of land seems to be used for grazing horses.

There are also some goal posts on the field behind the church although I don't know who these belong to.

A footpath would, at the very least, allow village children to access facilities in Harleston and, if appropriate, the play area in Needham.
