Report to the Annual Brockdish Parish Meeting 29th April 2008

Brockdish Home Watch was formed at a meeting of 57 residents 1995.

Brockdish Home Watch scheme has now joined the Harleston Area Safer Neighbourhood Panel (SNAP).

A public meeting is held about every three months to which all members of the public are invited to attend and contribute if they wish.

Home Watch, which has free membership to residents, and is aimed at reducing domestic burglaries which is one of the most upsetting crimes that can happen to you.

There is approximately 80% membership in the village at present. To be a member of Home Watch a co-ordinator must be living in close proximity to you and you must have your name and address registered with the co-ordinator.

Home Watch comes into its own with residents knowing the occupiers and regular visitors to their neighbour’s house; they are able to spot suspicious strangers and unknown vehicles visiting houses in the area.

Crime wise Norfolk is a safe place to live and South Norfolk area is one of the best. To help keep it this way, if you have any information about crime contact the police 01953 424242 or the South Norfolk Home Watch Administrator 650773 or your street co-ordinator.

Identification fraud at present is one of the most prevalent causes of crime A few weeks ago a resident of Startson was a recent victim. The most recent crime in the village was last week when copper was stolen from Church Road South.

Are you a member of Brockdish Home Watch?

If the answer is no you could be missing out on important information on how to make your home and possessions more secure, also you maybe able to benefit from a lower home insurance.

Village Co-ordinator April 2008.
